Introduction to the department
Chemistry is a fundamental science being integral to every facet of life. The sciences of - physics, engineering, forensics, environmental and biomedical sciences - share an essential connection with chemistry. Almost every new technological challenge and important discovery has a foundation in chemistry.
The Chemistry department at DHSG provides an exciting and challenging learning experience for students in all key stages. At KS3 the students are taught a two year course that forms the foundations for KS4 AQA GCSE Chemistry. For those who choose Double Science rather than Triple Science, the department also offers Combined Science Trilogy at GCSE. Large numbers of students choose to continue their study of the subject at A level, both courses are suitable preparation for A level chemistry.
