The minimum entry requirement for our Sixth Form is an average grade of 6 or higher from your GCSEs, with a minimum of a grade 5 in English and Mathematics. Additionally, subject-specific entry requirements include a minimum grade of 6 for the subjects you wish to study. Additional requirements exist for:
Psychology, a grade 6 in Mathematics or a Science and a grade 6 in English are required; Business, a grade 6 in Mathematics and a grade 6 in English are required.
We also recommend that students with a grade 5 in Mathematics undertake Core Maths to support their studies. For Classics, we require a grade 6 in English, History, or any essay-based subject.
All applicants will be interviewed and are encouraged to tour DHSG during a normal school day. For further details about our admissions process, please consult our Admissions Policy available on the main school website.
We offer the Post 16 Bursary to students who meet the criteria of the three categories of Looked After, Disadvantaged, or combined family income. This is payable every month and is used for a range of things to help pay for a student’s wider education from equipment to transport. Awarding of funds is linked to maintaining excellent attendance.
