Devonport High School for Girls

Fantastic GCSE Results

Students at Devonport High School for Girls are celebrating fantastic GCSE exam results this year.  98% of students achieved a strong GCSE pass (grade 5 or above) in both English and Mathematics.  Students, on average, achieved a Grade 8, and 1/3 of all results awarded were Grade 9s (the highest possible grade).  Although yet unvalidated, the progress score for the school is likely to place DHSG and students in the top 10% of schools in the country.

Students achieving the highest grades across the board were:

Lucy Epps – ten grade 9s

Cara Cochrane – ten grade 9s

Ruby Jones – ten grade 9s

Imogen Rickard – ten grade 9s

Amélie White – ten grade 9s

Aoife Chong – nine grade 9s and one grade 8

Lara Marshall-Roberts – nine grade 9s and one grade 8

Martha Bultmann – eight grade 9s and two grade 8s

Grace Harrison – eight grade 9s and two grade 8s

Jahida Faruk – eight grade 9s and two grade 8s

Lee Sargeant, Head Teacher, said “I am extremely proud of the students this year.  They have achieved outstanding results despite the disruption of the pandemic, over the past two years.  For students to have performed so well, really shows how resilient they are.  My thanks go to the staff who supported them through such a challenging period and their families.  I wish all the students the best of luck as they continue their education and am very much looking forward to welcoming back many of them into the Sixth Form.”

DHSG Sixth Form still has a few remaining places.  We offer a wide range of courses (see our website for more details (www.dhsg.co.uk).  We are a mixed-sex Sixth Form, offering places to both male and female students.  Should any students wish to enrol please get in touch on 01752 705024 or email dhsg@dhsg.co.uk as soon as possible.
