THE LINK PARTNERSHIP

The Link Partnership (TLP) was established in 2001 to widen the post-16 subject provision within five Plymouth Schools:

  • Devonport High School for Girls
  • Devonport High School for Boys
  • Eggbuckland Community College
  • Notre Dame Roman Catholic School
  • St. Boniface's Roman Catholic College

The Link Partnership offers a wide variety of courses, allowing you to have a broader choice of subjects. Students opting to study a subject at a partner TLP school will have the opportunity to meet new people and to experience different ways of learning through innovative teaching styles.

Transport to and from TLP schools

During the day, transport between this school and the TLP school will be provided; taxis will pick you up from this school and they will be paid for. In the case of morning lessons, you make your own way directly to the partner school and you make your own way home directly from there at the end of an afternoon.

How easy will it be to settle into a different school?

Students will have an induction morning in their TLP school at the beginning of year 12 to enable them to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings and colleagues. TLP students should have equality of opportunity with home students in all aspects of a subject's delivery and resources and will be given access to library and ICT resources.

In each school there is a Head of Key Stage 5 who will ensure that you are made familiar with the school upon your arrival in September. They will also be your main point of contact at the school, should you have any concerns. They will work closely with the Head of Key Stage 5 in your own school to ensure that you have a positive learning experience.

How to apply for a course at a TLP school

Sixth form prospectuses can be found on each school's website and contain details of all the subjects on offer. The expectation is that students will choose no more than one subject away from their home site. They will do this only after thorough research using the prospectuses and in consultation with their Head of Key Stage and Mr A Thomas. TLP courses are not available to students who could make their course choices from within their home school's curriculum offer.

In order to make an informed choice, students are encouraged, not only to attend their own school's Sixth Form Information Evening, but also that of any TLP school, where there is a subject they may wish to study.
